Joy

Back to the joy

It’s been about 4 weeks since my last post of joyful things. So, here you go. These are some of the things that brought me joy this week:

This post about orange blossoms. I love them just as much.

Currently obsessing over this song by Hans Zimmer. He is so talented.

Our new couch and antique coffee table. Very beachy.

Um, these jello eggs for Easter look like so much fun!

Have you seen the baby sloth pic? It’s cute but freakish at the same time. hahahaha

The wedding kisses and gowns in this post.

My long run on the beach and phone chat with a friend.

Our new TV. Rob was like a little kid in a candy store when we took it to the check-out line at Costco.

Nienie Dialogues’ new book comes out this week!

Lucy now does a little hop when she’s about to eat. Sort of like this corgi, but not as cute. I do think she’s trimmed a little since being here. And while you’re at it, you should watch the corgi flop, too.

Also toying with the idea of making a Goldendoodle our next dog, after a basset that is.

My mom’s first blog comment. I’m so proud of her for being more adventurous on the web and looking at my blog each week.

My friend Olive has brought me lots of joy this week. Too much to say. She also introduced me to the Donavon Frankenreiter station on Pandora. Very beachy. (I think I’m saying ‘beachy’ too much, lol!)

Tacoma’s face, his ears, and his sprint to the waves.

Excited to try these carrot cake pancakes!

Locked the keys in the truck this week and I totally laughed at myself. I will never poke fun at Robby again for it. I think it’s his truck – it’s cursed to make you forgetful.

This quote. I think I’m like this most days.

My friend Jen was featured on Style Me Pretty! Kristin blogged about it, too.

These natural pet products for your Dog. Especially this tie which Mr. Gus will be receiving soon (once it comes back in-stock).

Urban Rebound @ Studio 831. Amazing work-out!

Sundays

Sunday is officially church and beach day. First we like to grab a coffee at The Abbey, then go to the 11:00 a.m. service at Vintage Faith, our new church. After, we head home, pick up the dogs and go straight to the beach for the afternoon. It’s been our “thing” since we moved here and the beach by our cottage is absolutely beautiful. I read Harry Potter, Lucy rolls around in the sand and Rob and Tacoma play.

Tacoma just keeps going and going. I don’t think I’ve seen him sit down ONCE at the beach.

My favorite part is letting the dogs run towards the beach once they get down the stairs and off their leashes. It’s hilarious how fast they book it to the water. Lucy especially.

On a side note, look how kind our new church is! They sent us a little welcome note and coupon for a free drink at The Abbey.

We’re really enjoying the series on Smart Love right now. What do you like to do on Sundays?

I heart our bathroom

I hate to brag, but our cottage has the cutest main bath. It’s everything I would have picked out for my own. Sage-colored walls, white and grey tiling, beautiful bath fixtures and a lovely sink. The shower curtain I picked up at Cost Plus World Market (courtesy of Heather). The best part is the window that cracks open.

It’s so perfect, and might be my favorite room in our cottage. What’s your favorite room in your casa?

Spring break with Riley

For 7 days Riley was sort of like our child. It was so much fun hanging with him! But what I think was even more fun was FEEDING him! We grilled hamburgers, baked cookies – made pancakes, french toast, ravioli, fish tacos – drank a lot of root beer and hot chocolate – hit up a couple pizza parlors – and snacked on donuts on St. Patty’s day.

Weather wise, I’m thankful we got some sun and sand in on his first three days. But as you know, it rained every day thereafter – up until his last day in which we spent on a windy beach where we flew mini kites.

Here are some of the highlights at the beach:

When nights were rainy the boys played poker, XBOX and watched manly movies. I even got in on some zombie action on the XBOX!

Rob and his model poses…jeez

On St. Patrick’s Day, we ate at the River Cafe and went to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk for bowling and games.

Love you Riley! It was sad to see you go. Thanks for all the great memories and laughs!
