Sunday luncheon

IMG_3261

On Sunday my sister threw me a little impromtu sprinkle shower, something small with family and a few of my closest friends. It was seriously the most beautiful day, from start to finish. I originally didn’t want any kind of shower since I really have everything from the first go around, but realized how lovely it was just to have a girls outing to mentally decompress and take a break before the rush of having another at home becomes a reality.

The Giants game with Jace

IMG_3159 We took our birthday boy to a Giants game this past Sunday – and what an awesome time we had. Some serious memory making! We even invited his bestest friends in the world to come – Stella from daycare (his girrrrrlfriend) and James, my friend Sarah’s little boy that he completely looks up to! Plus the parents, so even better for us. We went for the bleacher seats so Jace could see more of the game and it worked out great. A little warm, but we got some shade where we were, and there was the occasional breeze (why do I always talk about the weather? haha Must be something I get from my Dad).  Momma even got a root beer float! We sure do love our friends the Andersons, and Stella’s Mom and Dad. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Good friends and a good game! I think Jace loved every minute of his birthday gift. Here are the lovebirds together ;) Every time Stella gives Jace a hug she tries to pick him up all the way. It’s the cutest thing.

Teaspressa with Kristin

teaspressa-tea-scottsdale-arizona-locationI met my friend Kristin for a little girl date this past Sunday and it was so lovely. We are HUGE fans of the local pop-up Teaspressa and have been DYING to try her new storefront with Ruze. We would always see Teaspressa at our favorite craft events, including Pineapple Triangle and the Phoenix Flea, and are so happy that she has her own location now where we can enjoy her tea anytime we want (plus it’s literally 5 min from my house!). The pairing with Ruze was a smart move as well .. we loved all the copper undertones (even down to the silverware!!!). Especially Kristin since copper/bronze is such a part of her life color palette (like coral is in mine). We ordered our tea, and some scones, sat and visited, and exchanged our Christmas gifts before heading to the nail salon to pamper ourselves. Kristin also walked away with some gold-coated rose sugar cubes and me a cactus-shaped cookie for Jace face. I love this woman dearly, and that we share in our love for thick paper stock, unique craft projects, and rose colored things. She is truly one of the best, and I always leave feeling inspired and so uncontrollably content. My mind actually feels lighter and happier. Can’t explain it. I simply never want our time to end. The next time you’re in old town, check out the Ruze Cafe House for some Teaspressa!

October shenanigans

img_1991Even though it’s October in these parts, it’s still pretty hot out. We’re trying to keep our cool, if you know what I mean. We’ve already had a very busy Fall. With October comes Fall break, where Jace gets to take a break from daycare and hang out with family, and me! All I can say is our days and weekends have been jam packed with activities, park dates and road trips! I feel almost hung over.  Continue Reading

How We’re Staying Cool

Man has it been hot this summer. I can’t stress enough how unbearable it’s been. On the weekend I sip my coffee in my blow up pool on my back patio. Just to be outside because I can’t handle being inside all day. But fighting through it is definitely doable. How does one stay cool around here you ask?! Here are some ideas for any fellow Arizonans who want to get the kids out of the house (or even yourself!) but stay cool.
