The Giants game with Jace

IMG_3159 We took our birthday boy to a Giants game this past Sunday – and what an awesome time we had. Some serious memory making! We even invited his bestest friends in the world to come – Stella from daycare (his girrrrrlfriend) and James, my friend Sarah’s little boy that he completely looks up to! Plus the parents, so even better for us. We went for the bleacher seats so Jace could see more of the game and it worked out great. A little warm, but we got some shade where we were, and there was the occasional breeze (why do I always talk about the weather? haha Must be something I get from my Dad).  Momma even got a root beer float! We sure do love our friends the Andersons, and Stella’s Mom and Dad. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Good friends and a good game! I think Jace loved every minute of his birthday gift. Here are the lovebirds together ;) Every time Stella gives Jace a hug she tries to pick him up all the way. It’s the cutest thing.

Teaspressa with Kristin

teaspressa-tea-scottsdale-arizona-locationI met my friend Kristin for a little girl date this past Sunday and it was so lovely. We are HUGE fans of the local pop-up Teaspressa and have been DYING to try her new storefront with Ruze. We would always see Teaspressa at our favorite craft events, including Pineapple Triangle and the Phoenix Flea, and are so happy that she has her own location now where we can enjoy her tea anytime we want (plus it’s literally 5 min from my house!). The pairing with Ruze was a smart move as well .. we loved all the copper undertones (even down to the silverware!!!). Especially Kristin since copper/bronze is such a part of her life color palette (like coral is in mine). We ordered our tea, and some scones, sat and visited, and exchanged our Christmas gifts before heading to the nail salon to pamper ourselves. Kristin also walked away with some gold-coated rose sugar cubes and me a cactus-shaped cookie for Jace face. I love this woman dearly, and that we share in our love for thick paper stock, unique craft projects, and rose colored things. She is truly one of the best, and I always leave feeling inspired and so uncontrollably content. My mind actually feels lighter and happier. Can’t explain it. I simply never want our time to end. The next time you’re in old town, check out the Ruze Cafe House for some Teaspressa!

Officially closing out the summer

img_1622 Well, I’m going to say it. Summer is long over! We’re officially into October in these parts and I couldn’t be more excited. I am so ready to bring out my fall colors and bake something with spice. Even picked up some pumpkin-spice bagels. But I also don’t want to forget the last few memories of summer.  In August I was able to go back to Santa Cruz to see who else but my bestie, Heather. It was of course another wonderful weekend of catching up and seeing friends and enjoying the beautiful, cool weather under the redwoods. She definitely spoiled me with breakfast and a comfy bed, some bubbly and a wicked spread of delicious food to enjoy with friends. I also got a righteous sunburn from hanging in Capitola one afternoon. It was so worth it if you ask me. Man do I miss her, and all my good friends there. I’m so glad it worked out for me to go back a couple times this summer. I always have a relaxing, enjoyable time. We also started that show, Stranger Things. Have you all seen this?! So good, but not the best thing to watch when you’re a bunch of girls alone in the woods, haha.

Some shots from our house cooling

img_1726A couple weeks ago we hosted a little house “cooling” and invited a bunch of our friends and family. Because the weather was still cooling down, a friend gave me the idea to just call it a house cooling and have a bunch of cold, freshing drinks and snacks. We threw some beer in a wheel barrel full of ice, put some rose over ice, served otter pops and salsa, and some fresh Papa Murphy’s pizza and called it a day!  Man, we had so many people in our house! Of coures I took NO pictures of the crowd mingling, only these that my sister sent me. It was a busy night of catching up, house tours and scrambling to find more wine for the many guests! Our families hung out for the first part and then friends closed it out. Jace was on cloud nine of course with friends to swim and play water guns with. He also could be found sitting in his favorite blue patio chair, eating an otter pop (of which he had like 20!). Towards the end of the night the temps finally cooled down, and we turned the patio lights on closed down the pool. Such a great afternoon with our Arizona peeps!

Fort wood

IMG_1195 Well I just got back from the most relaxing weekend ever. At FORD WOOD, my best friend, Heather’s, new home under the redwoods. It’d been a year since I’d been back to Santa Cruz, so I was looking forward to getting back to my roots and catching up with friends. Good friends. Truly the best if you ask me. Heather was the most perfect host. She set up her little guest house for me with fresh sheets, toiletries and flowers, even some water for my bedside. It was my little sanctuary away from home. Here were some of my favorite moments from the weekend . . .
