Paint party baby shower at The Art House

Well, hi world! Long time no talk, hahaha. Yeah. 3 kids is CRAY. But I wanted to get these memories up of my sister’s baby shower! I was so excited to plan my sister’s baby shower. My sister’s BABY SHOWER! Oh, to shower her meant so much. I’ve secretly prayed that she would experience pregnancy and birth and motherhood. And now she is! She’s found a great man and was blessed with a healthy pregnancy. And since normal baby showers are so boring usually, with all the games and pastel colors, I decided to do something a little different. Something with a pop of color you could say! ;) A friend actually gave me the idea, and it was seriously perfect. We planned a painting party baby shower at the Art House in Gilbert, Arizona. Instead of going with a water color or other canvas, I opted for the succulent planter party and it was a total hit. We’re all adult women, desperately wanting more time to socialize, so it was the best place for the occasion. We catered Pita Jungle, my sister’s favorite, made her favorite fruit cookies, had “mom”-osas, and saved time at the end for gifts. My friend Kristin designed the invitation (thank you!!!). I saw the clear balloons on Pinterest and had fun with the other girls getting them painted before everyone arrived. You could say I went all out with the paint theme, ha. My sister looked so happy. I know she was a little nervous about being the center of attention, but it went great and she truly looked like she was in her happy place, surrounded by all her friends. So much love and conversation and lots of pictures, if you can’t tell. Congratulations my beautiful sister. I’m so ridiculously excited for you and Kevin. I love you so much. I hope you enjoyed your baby shower as much as me <3

Tea Party Baby Shower

My bestie Heather by Hand threw me a little tea party baby shower this past weekend at Buttercup Cakes (& Farmhouse) in downtown Santa Cruz! On the weekends they offer “high tea” and it’s quite the popular outing around these parts. Heather and I would love to make it a monthly ritual because it’s just absolutely lovely. The decor and china and tea sandwiches and options for scones and teas is just marvelous. You feel very girly and fancy, like a queen! And for us Downton obsessed fans, it’s the perfect place for girl time and in my case, a baby shower!

Friends, Pregnancy, Walker Wednesday

Walker turns uno + his first fiesta!

Our little Walker baby is officially a year old. And it was, without a doubt, the fastest year of my life. How is this little second babe of ours one??!! I never imagined that we could love a second as much as our first, but the love is so deep and so real. Walker is absolutely delicious and such a pleasure to be around. Seeing how different he is from Jace just warms my heart. I’m pretty sure he’s going to be our sky-diving, never settle down, heartbreaking adventurer. This kid doesn’t stop moving. There was no chance of over stimulating him on his birthday either. He actually out partied us all, and was up late playing with his new birthday hoop game, running circles around the downstairs, snacking late and laughing himself into our arms over and over again. So much heart and soul, and those eyes!

Sonnet James sample sale

Last weekend I took the boys with me to Palo Alto for the Sonnet James sample sale. Miss Heather joined us, too and I’m so glad she did! We had such a great day. I’ve been a distant fan of Sonnet James’ play dresses for years but sadly I’ve never been able to afford buying one. I just couldn’t stomach spending $140 for a dress that I might ruin, so the minute I heard about the sample sale I jumped at the opportunity, especially now that I live so close to the Sonnet James HQ in Palo Alto. I was so excited to see some of her designs in person and feel the fabric quality. And, wow! Amazing fabric, amazing cuts and styles. Very well made and incredibly comfortable to wear. I was blown away by how soft and stretchy all the dresses were.

Greenery Baby Shower at Garage East

This past weekend I had the honor of putting on a baby shower for one of my best friends in the world – Miss Moon! Along with her other good friends and her Mama, we wanted to shower her with so much cuteness and details that she couldn’t stand it. The theme was mainly green and white, with traces of gold and geometric shapes. I found this greenery invitation on Etsy and the inspiration sort of just flowed from there.
