Greek threads

My friend Kristin got these shirts for my boys while she was in Greece last year and I’ve been dying for them to wear them together. Turns out Easter was the best day they could be matching. At church and around town, we felt so European. Almost like we were living in Jesus’ day. And somehow the boys lasted all day in them. Easy breezy material!

Sonnet James sample sale

Last weekend I took the boys with me to Palo Alto for the Sonnet James sample sale. Miss Heather joined us, too and I’m so glad she did! We had such a great day. I’ve been a distant fan of Sonnet James’ play dresses for years but sadly I’ve never been able to afford buying one. I just couldn’t stomach spending $140 for a dress that I might ruin, so the minute I heard about the sample sale I jumped at the opportunity, especially now that I live so close to the Sonnet James HQ in Palo Alto. I was so excited to see some of her designs in person and feel the fabric quality. And, wow! Amazing fabric, amazing cuts and styles. Very well made and incredibly comfortable to wear. I was blown away by how soft and stretchy all the dresses were.

Currently binging on Dolly

methode-sundaytimes-prod-web-bin-9c9884ba-21a5-11e6-bcc2-78c164a12aa2 I’ve been rather obsessed with someone new lately. Her name is Dolly Alderton. I can’t stop listening to her podcast, PanDolly (with co-host Pandora Sykes). It’s so light and funny, and their chemistry is adorable. I immediately subscribed to her weekly Dolly Mail, and actually read every word. The only other email or blog type I do that with religiously is Cup of Jo. Not sure if it’s her british accent or her friendly, just live life attitude, but I can’t get enough. Her writing is so wonderfully eloquent and real, and witty, and easy. It’s truly been the most inspiring thing to me lately. I’m even listening to her Christmas spotify playlist right now as I type this (I think I’ve offiically crossed over into stalkerville). And now, come to think of it, I can’t even remember how I even found her podcast .. but I’m glad I did. I love listening to her talk about family, and dating, and pop culture, and get togethers with friends (that normally involve a lot of champagne and food). I’m going to leave you with her 10 realistic resolutions for 2017, because I think they’re fab. And for some reason, this post of hers really makes me want to be better person and friend, all around. Who has inspired you lately??? Please share!

Trying on some Warby Parkers

My glasses broke the other day .. and my back-up pair is also sort of broke. It was time to get new glasses. Like you I’m sure, I have friends that rave about the Warby Parker experience, so I decided to give it a whirl! If you don’t already know how it works, you pick out 5 frames, they mail them to you for free to try on, then depending on what you like, you send back the frames at no cost to you, order the winning pair (or pairs) through their website and upload your prescription! You can even use an FSA account to pay! I went ahead and picked out 5 to try on (without realizing a couple were pretty similar), as well as a couple outside my comfort zone that were funky and different. In order above, I tried the Casey, Louise, Barnett, Keene, and lastly, the Finch! Right now I’m leaning towards the Finch, or Louise.  What do you think??? Help!

My newest obsession: Shea Moisture

I wish I could say this was a sponsored post but it’s not. I just really wanted to share, from an authentic place. I’ve found something recently that I’m madly in love with. Shea Moisture. I’m currently using their Mommy line, and their Baby line, and also LOOOOOOOVE their plain ol’ Raw Shea Butter line. I don’t know what gets me more, the smell or the creamy, moisturizing or oiling aftermath of using their products. I put it all over Jace, all over my belly, all over my hair, every where, if you know what I mean. And I’ve found Walgreens to be the best place to buy it, and ocassionally Target if their prices are marked down. Or, just go ahead and get lost on their beautiful website, where you can see all of their products and choose the one that’s right for you. Like they say, there are a million ways to SHEA. So, SHEA. But watch out, you’ll get wrapped up in their website. And, they have ingredients and a message you can get behind.
