Pie & patio party

In case you saw my summer bucket list – you would have seen I wanted to throw a pie party. I did this past weekend and it was crazy awesome. Since the 4th of July fell on a Wednesday this year, I decided to keep the red, white and blue theme going. First, us ladies got our bake on:

While the pies baked {or froze}, we enjoyed the party on the patio with the boys {from the left: Olive, Katy, Heather & me}. Our aprons were so comfy we about stayed in them the entire time:

We were all so hungry that we forgot to take pictures of the chicken BBQ sandwiches and slaw and beautiful sides. {sad face}
When the pies were done, we all did some pie-tasting!

For more on the pie-baking and recipes, check out Heather’s blog!

It was great to sit by the fire and watch the day come to a close with new friends {and one old}. I loved having people over.. I’ve been DYING to throw a party, hahaha.

Tacoma

Man’s best friend

Look at these two. They’re so in love. Could Rob BE any more happy in this moment? Scotch, cigar and his dog. Too cute.

Greece, Santorini, Travel

Anchors away

I don’t know if I’ve been watching too much Bachelorette, but our last day on Santorini, now that I look back, was the perfect “Bachelorette” date. We took a sunset cruise, full of mini excursions and romantic moments.

We boarded our Pirates of the Caribbean ship and took sail for Santorini’s volcanic crater {center}. In case I haven’t mentioned it, I LOVE volcanoes. So much that I toyed with the idea of studying them {for a very brief moment}.

The boys!

This is Mandy, my girlfriend on the boat:

Next stop – swimming in the hot springs.

Wine and snackies:

And then the sunset:
We kissed and snuggled as the sun went down. It was the perfect ending to an amazing trip. Now tell me that doesn’t sound like The Bachelorette? {I’m watching it as I write this}

This marks the end of our Greece vacation! About time, right? I can’t wait to go back to Europe. All I can think about is where to go next. Thinking London and Ireland! Planning for Spring 2013!

Family time

Rob’s family came out earlier this month and they never cease to disappoint when it comes to spontaneity. Beside our 10 mile hike through the redwoods, late-night smores by the beach and donut cravings, the fam decided to have a sand castle building contest. The guy next to Rob? Some random kid who wandered over and wanted to help Rob judge. SO funny.

Riley won! Missing my Tay & Ri…
