Giving Joy

Gift idea for Spring: Mrs. Meyer’s

I’m so in love with the new honeysuckle scent from Mrs. Meyer’s right now that I decided to take advantage of their Earth Day special (free shipping!) and send a couple Kitchen Basics Sets out to family. When you shop direct, you get all of the above for only $9.99. You can also personalize with a gift note direct from their website to write a little “Happy Spring!” message. I’d also recommend their Basil or Rhubarb line — so delicious. The perfect gift to share a little Spring joy!

Hello there.

I’m checking in. Work has sort of swallowed me up lately, and I’ve been neglecting this blog – and more importantly, “me” time. That “me” time that we all need. Do you ever feel like life takes over? That every day is so routine that you have no down time to breathe, to take some silent moments to yourself, to feel caught up? In January I wrote in my little purse notebook my goals for the year. Looking back at it, I haven’t accomplished much and that breaks my heart. These were goals I really cared about personally, and somehow I let life get the best of me. I’m at a point where I need to re-check myself & re-evaluate. To stop comparing and start being confident with who I am. To read, write and reflect more. To allocate more time to “me”.  I’m also going to take a break from coffee. Do any of you like yourself better off coffee? I’ve found myself a little more clear and awake, so we’ll see! Well, thanks for listening and I hope to get back in the swing of things soon.

The weekend is coming to an end and we’re chillaxin’ before another work week. I can’t believe how fast my Mom’s trip came and went. It was so nice having her here; I miss her so much already. I think she had a nice birthday:) and was able to enjoy the California life for a few days. In other news, we’re all booked for Hawaii, both Oahu & Kauai, and we couldn’t be more ecstatic!!! It’s only a few weeks away, so we’ve promised ourselves we’d do something active every day until we leave — time to kick our bodies into gear for the beach! Last week was pretty eventful at work, and this week will be just as crazy. I head to Chicago this week and hope it doesn’t rain the entire time. Well, any way, hope you’re all having a nice April – – here’s what brought me joy last week:

1. My pretty momma. Loved seeing her beautiful face every day.
2. Our day at the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
3. Little loves notes from my mom, scattered around the house for us to find after she left. She’s so sweet:)
4. A long run on the beach — much needed!
