November is upon us and I feel a head cold coming on, thanks to my hubby. The weather was perfect again this weekend. We got one last scare in at Fright Night at Winchester Mystery House and ran around town all day yesterday. Got to turn our clocks back by an hour, so I’ve been enjoying the extra hour to our day! Here’s what brought me joy last week:

I’ve started planning for my 30th in Hawaii {a year from now, remember} and am playing around with some different themes. I have to have a theme. I’d like to take your vote at the end – here is 1 of 3:
To help you visualize: it’s a mix between those old airplane print ads {upper right} and Elvis’ Blue Hawaii days. I am picturing vintage-style bathing suits {I love this one}, red lips, red nails, traditional Hawaiian prints, short{er} swim trunks for the guys {he.he.}, and leis all the way. I already have my eye on some vintage-themed hawaiian stamps. Theme #2 coming soon!
Are you guys all ready for Halloween? We’re not dressing up {or passing out candy}, so I did a little something for my friends at work. I did this same thing a couple years ago, but added some upgrades, like washi tape and wraphia. I turned on some Michael Buble Pandora, sipped on pumpkin spice coffee and enjoyed a crafty morning on my back patio.
Here’s what you need to “BOO!”ze your friends:
- Paper; washi tape; scissors; pens; wraphia.
- Bottles of wine – one for each friend. I always opt for red since it’s scarier than white.
I like to go to Trader Joe’s for the wine. They have a great selection of wine labels that are dark & spooky – and cost any where from $1.99 – $6.99 each. Which, is pretty cheap if you’re buying for a few friends.
I put a bottle at each of their desks at work and surrounded it with some black, shredded paper. And done!
Happy Halloween friends!
What a week! Work was long for both of us {more so for Rob} and every night it seemed like we had something going on. This weekend we soaked up some much needed TLC and met our new pet-sitter for Tacoma. This will be the first year we don’t dress up for Halloween {weird!}, but I’m having way more fun seeing the costumes via Instagram. Some people are so creative! Well, I’m going to get in the kitchen to make some pumpkin apple pancakes, but before I do, here’s what brought me joy last week:
1. Nicki Bluhm live in Felton. {Image by Clayton Ryon}.
2. Taylor Swift’s new CD.
3. Starting a new book.
4. Slumber party with the dogs watching scary movies {I still have to close my eyes when I watch I Am Legend}.
Have a great next week friends!
