Fall-ing

In looking back at my summer bucket list, I finished 9 out of 14. Not bad.
1. Drink wine in Sonoma
2. Drink wine in Napa; and maybe enjoy a mud bath
3. Spend a day at the Santa Cruz boardwalk
4. Go whale-watching it’s better in the late Spring I think. . .
6. Go camping or cabining {Yosemite, Lake Tahoe or Cambria]ran out of budget.
7. Go white-water rafting {planned for September}Renata, we still need to do this!
8. Eat a macaroon
9. Make a succulent frame
10. Host a pie party
11. Enjoy a cocktail at the top of the Marriott Marquis hotel in San Fran
12. Attend a meditation session still could do this. Heather, let’s go! ;)
13. See Mendocino no budget.

Now that summer is over, I’m making my fall to-do list, but I’m thinking I might keep it simple this time:

  1. Buy rain boots.
  2. Go to a pumpkin patch.
  3. Decorate my fireplace {and mantle} for the season; thinking lots of candles!
  4. Make a pumpkin pie {it’s my all-time favorite, and I’ve never made one!}
  5. Plan a special gift for friends {using washi tape maybe?}.

Should be do-able right? Only 5 things. What are you looking to do this Fall? I can’t wait to cozy up and enjoy the smells of Fall, like pumpkin spice, wood burning and cold mornings on the coast.

Patio herb boxes

Came home to a birthday gift last Sunday! Miss Heather bought me everything for my herb boxes {and a scarf} :) I couldn’t wait, so I put my scarf on and got to work. Now my patio has some more color, and hopefully my food will be tastier with some fresh, organic herbs to pick {thanks Heather!}.

The cilantro smells amazing.
Joy

A new joy post

Instead of listing out an obnoxious amount of links and things that brought me joy the week past, I thought I’d simplify by keying in on 4 things that TRULY brought me joy the week before. It’s obvious that a million things bring me joy every day, every week, but I need to narrow it down – to really reflect on the most joy-inspired, little things, or big things, from every day life, mostly captured on my phone. So, this Sunday morning as I sip on my pumpkin spice coffee, I’ll share what brought me joy last week:

The birthday treat Diane made for me at work – teddy bears in bikinis on the beach cupcakes!  The girls I work with made my day so special. I’m so blessed.

The smell of Fall in my house.

A surprise lunch with Rob.

The decanter I found at an antique shop in Soquel as a congratulations gift for sweet hubby.  I’m so proud of him.

What brought you joy last week? :)

Moustache & macaroons

We finished out our Saturday with dessert at the most perfect place: Moustache. Plus, I was able to cross one last thing off my summer bucket list: eat a macaroon. They were celebrating their birthday, too:) I’m sad we missed the photo booth!

We ordered one of each: Earl Grey Orange Marmalade, Espresso and Pistachio:

The earl grey and orange was my favorite; pistachio 2nd.

The best birthday treat!

Spoonbar in Healdsburg

My 2nd to last birthday post, I promise {it was just so wonderful!!}! Saturday, we spent the late afternoon in downtown Healdsburg. My Sunset magazine told me to stop at H2 Hotel’s Spoonbar. So, we did. It was a breezy afternoon and we had front-row patio street seats. They serve cocktails with fresh, organic ingredients, and take pride in mixing your “potion” for the best taste. So refreshing!

For me, a Cucumber Collins; for him, an old-fashioned. Check out the rest of their delicious potions.

After, we found a place for dinner, and later some birthday dessert!
