Nicki Bluhm in Big Sur

When you know the Central Coast Sierra Nevada rep, you get things. Like free tickets to Nicki Bluhm in Big Sur! I discovered Nicki Bluhm last fall when I saw her at Don Quixote’s in Felton. She stole my heart. And seeing her at the Library made it all that sweeter. What a venue! Those trees, that voice. It was the best getaway for a week night. The drive there wasn’t that bad either.

Aloha friends! Hawaii is so close I can smell it!!! Hope you all had a nice weekend. Ours has been full of last-minute planning and down time at our little cottage. For some reason, I’ve never wanted a vacation more than right now. Feeling a  little burnt out. I can’t wait to disconnect, turn my brain off, and let go a little. Plus, I get to see my sister within the week . . so excited!!!  Here’s what brought me joy last week — and boy was it a doozy {aren’t they all?!}:

1. A tangerine chicken dinner at home. LOVE the Fifty Shades of Chicken cookbook!
2. Lady A’s new CD!
3. Blueberry pancakes at my boss’ house — the best way to end the week.
4. My new cameo hand wraps for kick-boxing.

Have a great week ya’ll!

Chicago, Heather by Hand, Lately, Mountain View

April flew

Where the heck did April go?! I can’t believe we’re already into May! April was such a flash – – first with my Mom’s visit – then to AE College in Chicago with Heather. We got to enjoy Chi-town for a few days with deep-dish pizza, dinner in Lincoln park and a visit to the bean. We survived the thunderstorms with a delayed flight and a smooth flight home {thankfully}. My iPhone 5 got in a car accident a couple weeks ago, and I lost all my other fun pictures from Chicago, or else you’d see more than just the below!

Rob surprised me with dinner and box tickets to Lady Antebellum in April. Felt great to go to a country concert again — I got my country dance on! BTW, Fiesta Del Mar in Mountain View is AMAZING. I highly recommend.

Rob joined a dodge ball team at work. I don’t have any action shots but here are some of the pre-game footage:

And when we weren’t swamped with work, we were spending our free time planning for Hawaii and getting our base tan on the beach. Yes, that is Rob swimming in the Pacific. The cold water somehow doesn’t phase him. Ha.

Happy May, friends!
