Center of attention

Grandpa and Grandma Johannes came to visit and Jace was absolutely spoiled with love! Just look at that face. He had no problem being the center of attention. Which reminds me of someone else I know . . .  ;) We had such a nice visit. I always know when my father-in-law is in town because there are fresh donuts in my kitchen every day. And oreos. Thanks Randy & Susan for the great dinners, being so good to our dogs and for letting us have a date night. So lucky to have them in our lives – they’re so loving and kind.

The nook

Whenever I hear the word “nook”, I think of Sex & the City and Aidan’s “nook” Carrie desperately wanted to get back into after they got back together. Nook has a whole new meaning to me now. My nook. The nook where Jace sleeps. I know I should put him in his crib, but when he’s in my nook and I can stare at his little face and fingers and feel his breath on my face, I refuse to move. He is so perfect in that moment that I will not move him. Plus, he sleeps 4 hours in the nook sometimes so I let him him stay there for as long as he wants. The crib can wait if you ask me ;)

Now, that’s a lot of babies!

This past Sunday we met up with our fellow mindful child birthing class parents and teacher, Roxanne Cummings, for a little reunion and to introduce the babies! It was such a fun afternoon of sharing stories and challenges and reflecting on our birth experiences together, and of course, eating! Santa Cruz has such an amazing birthing community — sometimes I feel like we moved here just to have a baby. It was just the kind of support we needed. These families are so awesome; each of their stories were so special. And Roxanne Cummings is one incredible teacher. I recommend her class to anyone having a baby in Santa Cruz.

Check your mail for our little “pineapple” announcement!
A big thank you to my friend, Michelle, for helping with the design. Such a sweetheart that girl!

XOXO,

Cheryl

{p.s. Cannot WAIT to take Jace to Hawaii one day. I’m already starting to talk to him about it ;)}

Bath time

I HAD to capture Jace’s first bath, sort of like I did with Lucy’s first bath {oh, how I wish I had a digital camera those 6 years ago}. And look, no wee-wee shots — I kept it PG! He’s not a fan yet of baths, or the bear towel. We hope that will change. I think he’s still adjusting to life outside the womb. Look at those little eyes! What a hunk.
