A couple of weeks ago Rob and I volunteered with our church at the Second Harvest Food Bank. I really liked what our Local Justice and Compassion ministry was about, so I joined the team to help plan events that provide members from our church the opportunity to go out into the community to volunteer their time and resources to those in need in Santa Cruz. My first project was organizing and campaigning for Vintage Faith volunteers to join us at the Second Harvest Food Bank. We ended up having 35 people from our church come! It was awesome. It was a fun day of sorting and packing food that Saturday. We packed over 20,000 bags for distribution to Santa Cruz families. We were all pretty excited! It was a great day — I’m meeting some pretty wonderful people at my church, who are so kind and giving. It really inspires me. Looking forward to the next event!
