Friends, Oakland

Temescal alley

This past weekend, I went up to Oakland for the day with my girls. Our first stop was Temescal Alley. It’s so small you’ll almost miss it, but definitely worth strolling through. In this little alley way, you’ll find a handful of unique, local artisan shops – a cafe and the Temescal Alley Barber Shop. Who knew Oakland had so much character?!  15 minutes later, I walked out with a small indoor plant for my bookshelves and some sweet dreams tea.

Date Night, San Francisco

A date with a watermelon beer . . . and the Giants

Last week I finally got to take advantage of some of the perks that come along with Rob’s job: free tickets to the Giants! We made the drive up to San Francisco for a date night, starting with dinner at 21st Amendment Brewery, watermelon fermented beer, and then the game! Watermelon might be my favorite fruit in the whole wide world, so when I heard that 21st Amendment had a watermelon beer, I was all over it. I don’t know what I was more excited about, the watermelon beer or the awesome seats at the stadium. Probably the beer {haha}. I mean, come on! They put a watermelon slice on my mug! They had me at the slice. It’s a wonderfully delicious, summer beer — perfect for the warm night we had in San Fran. Very light, just like I like it. I had to buy a 6-pack to take home with us. Can’t wait to pop one open on the beach. Dinner was great. We couldn’t stop talking about Jace. At one point we started laughing at each other because he was all we could talk about. It was a much needed date night, even with the traffic and angry homeless people. Highly recommend this brewery — especially their Hell or High Watermelon beer ;)

Jace

Jace at 3 months

I’ve been waiting for this smile since he was born. Oh, how I live for his smiles. It’s all I can think about when I’m at work . . . coming home and saying hello to him and him smiling at me. It’s the best feeling in the world. And tonight I was kissing his armpits {I basically kiss every part of his body right now} and he started giggling! For reals! So far he is a super happy boy — as long as he’s eating on time and changing scenery. He started sleeping 8+ hrs a night this past week and is very active during the day. I’m going to give props to this book for that. I think we finally got a sleep schedule down. He loves his soft blankets, baths and outings with Mom & Dad. He’s mastered tummy time and is anxious to hold his own sitting up or in his bouncer. He loves all kinds of noises. I’ve never made so many weird noises in my life. Nor have I ever baby talked so much in my life, ha. Well, we love watching him develop new tricks and actions each day. Jace face, we love you more every day.

Future front door

I’m a HUGE fan of Gray Malin. When my budget is right one day, I’m going to buy one of his A La Plage prints for my dining room or bedroom. Anyway, he recently posted the above picture on Instagram and I can’t stop coming back to it. This shade of peach / coral is absolutely perfect. I’m mesmerized for life. I MUST have this color for my future front door. Must. Love it. What color would you paint your front door if you could paint it any color in the world?

Felton, Jace

Morning in Felton

This past Sunday we met up with friends in Felton for breakfast at Rocky’s Cafe — one of our favorite breakfast spots! Because we were going to Felton, I put a little flannel on Jace. And what do you do with a baby in a flannel in the Redwoods?? You take a million pictures. Hahahahaha

{Can’t get enough of that butt!}
