To do in Santa Cruz: Hummingbird days

Can you spot the hummingbird??

How about here?

Look – they like to rest, too!

I’ve been wanting to go to the UCSC Arboretum since last summer – so many people talk about it up here. I thought it would be the perfect time to go while my father-in-law was in town and to my surprise when I looked up their events calendar I saw that they were having Hummingbird Days! I love hummingbirds like Robby loves bluebirds. They’re so speedy and cute and zippy! The hummingbird trail was set throughout the Australian garden of the Arboretum – just beautiful! I’ve never been more excited to see a hummingbird in my life, ha. Soon enough the hummingbirds were zooming everywhere, and so loud! It was rather enchanting and peaceful. To sit and enjoy the beautiful day and watch a bunch of hummingbirds flutter around. Such a great day. Sort of made me wish I had studied horticulture in college.

Do you have an arboretum near you?

Hello Robby and Cher, Was enjoyable looking at the fun and good times you were all having together during your father’s visit. It is always a little sad to say good bye until I see you again (all in one sentence) when the time spent together is so meaningful and memorable. You are wonderful hosts and it makes those that care about you want to come back for more. I will be seeing you soon. Love, Your MOM (JOY)
