Life

Lots to be thankful for

Happy Thanksgiving friends! This year has been a total whirlwind for us, and more than ever we’re reminded of how thankful we are that everything continues to work out. There’s been some worrisome times since our move, but somehow we make it through. Life is so precious, and every day we can talk or visit with a friend or our family, is another day we find ourselves overwhelmed with gratitude for the people in our lives. They make life so enjoyable.

We’re also pretty thankful for:

  • God’s grace
  • our love
  • health
  • dreams coming true
  • each new day
  • exciting careers
  • freedom
  • dogs that cuddle
  • rainy nights
  • lazy Sundays
  • red wine
  • On Demand cable
Wishing you lots of love this Thanksgiving holiday! We’re thinking of you . . .

Here’s the last one: Beachy chic

{Photo credits via my inspiration board on Pinterest}

Imagine a suitcase of beach chic items: white & lace everything, floppy beach hats, chunky necklaces, dangles, and island sandals. A stylish birthday on the beach and a wardrobe/look I could definitely re-purpose when we get back to California. Hmmmm…
I’ll let you have a think on all these and we’ll vote/reconvene next week. If you’re at all interested in helping me choose that is!

Soquel

Wine not: Poetic Cellars

Miss Heather had a Groupon for wine tasting in Soquel, so while the guys were working and biking, we drove up for the afternoon. Poetic Cellars is located in the Santa Cruz Mountains, tucked away high in the hills. The drive up was so peaceful. Here are a few pictures from our little wine outing. Look at the view of the mountains. Breathtaking.

The Petite Sirah was by far the best. Part of the deal was a free bottle of wine, so we opted for the Sirah to enjoy on Thanksgiving. And, we walked out with a map of all the local wineries, so I’m ecstatic. The Santa Cruz Mountains have more to offer than I thought!

Cher Joy

Cher joy

Hi friends. I’m enjoying a morning to myself this Sunday and watching my doggies sleep. I have a million things going through my head right now, mostly about all the things I want to accomplish. Thanksgiving is days away, and I can’t wait to eat! Hope you get to be with your loved ones this holiday. We’ll be staying here and making our own feast. Here’s what brought me joy last week:

1. Lucy turned 7 this week. Can’t believe I’ve had a dog for 7 years.
2. Oh Joy! & Rockstar Diaries’ virtual chat on blogging. Very inspiring!
3. Sunshine and rain in San Juan.
4. Super tacos at Taqueria Vallarta. The chicken is AMAZING.

I call this one: Island bright

{Photo credits via my inspiration board on Pinterest}

This theme is very much a retro/trendy spin on the typical “island girl”. Imagine bright balloons, bathing suits, nails & more. Add some gold and colored jewels, and a straw hat & done! And maybe a bright case for my iPad/iPhone since I‘ll be taking lots of pictures and videos along the way. A tan would really stand out in something bright & colorful. Tempting!
One more to go . . . hope you’re having as much fun with these themes as I am! :)
