The holiday sure came fast this year. We will be staying in the Cruz for Christmas this year. Stockings are hung {including one for little boy}, gifts are on their way, and our Christmas movie line-up is ready. With no travel in our near future, I see a lot of nights by the fire and walks along the beach, bundled up. Also need to use some of this down time to get the nursery ready. Still so much to do before February! What are your plans for Christmas?

I just got back from the most amazing baby shower in Arizona. My sister, with the help from my mom and friends, put on a darling, outdoor patio shower in my honor, at The Living Room in Chandler. It was everything I had hoped for. And I must say, it was one of the best social events I’ve attended this year ;) So adult, and so stylish! I couldn’t believe how many people attended, and with lots of gifts and books and hugs and belly rubs! I felt so loved. It was so wonderful seeing everyone. A big thank you to my sister for carrying out all the event & creative details, my Mom for the fun games and support, and my friends for their creative eye as well. It was a beautiful day and I can’t wait to share more pictures. Here’s a quick peak:
The day after Thanksgiving we about RAN to the Crest Ranch Christmas Tree Farm up in Bonny Doon. It was packed which made it even more festive! We grabbed some hot chocolate and apple cider and started hiking around for the perfect tree. After a lot of indecisiveness, we decided on a good 7-8 footer, and got her wrapped up to take home. Poor Lucy was so tired after our Christmas tree hunt that she passed out as soon we got her in the truck. She snored all the way home, ha. This tree farm is definitely our favorite place to kick off the holiday season. And now our tree is up and it smells SOOOO good. Like I said last year, real trees are the way to GO! Have you got your tree yet??
It’s officially the holiday season {yay}! We had a pretty low-key Thanksgiving this year with a couple of our friends. Even though we couldn’t be with family, we did get to talk with all of them via phone or FaceTime. I even FaceTimed with my family in Michigan! It made my day. I’m so thankful FaceTime was invented. Rob and I picked up the turkey and pies, and because we went to Costco, we went big. Now we have a TON of leftovers, and having that much left-over pie is not a good thing for me, ha. This year we also brined our turkey, which was so easy I’m not sure why we’ve never done it before. Then we covered it in garlic, butter & sage. It came out perfect. Because the turkey took longer than we thought, I was able to take a lot of before pics {sorry, no food shots!}. It was so nice to just visit and watch holiday movies and enjoy Thanksgiving together. We have so much to be thankful for every year. God has been keeping a close watch on us, in more than one way. Every new day is a blessing. Hope you all enjoyed your turkey day and got to spend it with your loved ones.
