Happy January, friends! I love reading all the resolutions posted in the blogosphere. Everyone’s is so different! Every new year is a fresh start – a fresh beginning at accomplishing more or perfecting what makes you the happiest. I wish that life would slow down sometimes, but at the same time, I’m ready to get into this next chapter of our lives = babyland. Things around here are staying busy with work, Doctor appointments and nursery projects. I’m thinking of a lot of friends right now and amping up for some fun gift ideas for you all.  Only a couple more weeks of work for me, and then I’ll be nesting. It’s going to be so weird to not work. Let’s just hope I can disconnect, ha! I’m feeling a big rush of love and hope this morning.  Love for life and hope for a manageable labor. Anyway, thought I’d share with you what brought me joy last week:

1. New Year’s Day with this guy. Love him so much it hurts.
2. Super Mario Bros. on the Wii!
3. My prenatal massage at Luma Yoga. AMAZING. I highly recommend to any mother-to-be!
4. Mornings at the beach house and online shopping for baby boy.

Weekends are so wonderful, aren’t they? We love them so much, especially when we have no plans and no one to see. When the week takes a lot of you, it’s nice to not do anything for a couple days. The week of course flew by, which is good and bad sometimes. I find myself wishing that time would slow down. But still in the midst, here’s what brought me joy last week:

1. Christmas has arrived at Starbucks, along with peppermint brownie cake pops {!}
2. Started a new book to intermix with all my baby books.
3. A cozy night by the fire.
4. A hot date with my man downtown.
Have a great week friends!

Happy November friends! I can’t believe we’re already into the 2nd week of November. Weeks are flying. I’m 28 weeks today {7 months!}. Pregnancy is still so bizarre to me. To feel his little movements and see his little form when I look at my belly. It’s so surreal. This past week was a challenging one for me. There are a lot of projects to get done this month at work and I’m feeling the pressure. With the time change here in the Cruz, it gets dark right after 5p so days seem shorter, and more tiring for some reason. More is on my mind than ever. I’m using this month to get caught up on car repairs and yard work, while trying to wind down more in the evenings. I know this time of year is busy for everyone, but all of sudden I have a million things on my to-do list. Rob helps me bring things into check though when I’m feeling overwhelmed and emotional. He’s very much my savior during the week — combined with root beer floats, episodes of Revenge {or BATB!} or early morning walks with the dogs. Thank you Rob ;) Here’s what brought me joy last week:

1. My friend, Michelle, got me the sweetest little night light for Baby J’s nursery. LOVE IT.
2. We started our child birthing class this week. My new favorite night of the week!
3. Baby shower invitations came in {more on that later!}
4. Breakfast in bed on Saturday with my love. Orange juice, oatmeal and pineapple – yum.

Have a great week! Hope it’s beautiful where you are.

So lucky to have this guy

In case I haven’t said it, my Dad is one great guy. While my man was in Hawaii, he came out to the Cruz to keep me company. Although my energy levels still aren’t where they used to be, we sure did a lot! I couldn’t have us very well sit around and do nothing when the weather here right now is absolutely gorgeous {finally}! I made sure we ate good and did some things he wanted to do – like golf, bonfire on the beach and watch football. When I wanted to be a couch potato he was a couch potato. He even went to Tacoma’s dog training with me, which trust me, is a big deal – my Coma is a handful. The sunsets here on the coast have been perfect lately. So many colors to watch. We made a lot of memories together this past weekend:)

Another week has flown by here in Santa Cruz. Wish life would slow down sometimes. We had our 16 week appointment this past week and all is well. When we walked out, I realized that pregnancy is sort of romantic. It’s intimate and new. That feeling of wandering into the unknown, not knowing what to expect; a little scary, but really exciting. We couldn’t be happier. I’m realizing too that I need to really to keep positive in all aspects of my life – especially right now. To fight the hormones and surround myself with positive influences. There is so much good every week that I need to not get bogged down with anything negative. Which reminds me, it’s the little things that feed into all the good in life. Here’s what brought me joy last week:

1. I’m officially on a Mac at work! {yay!!}
2. Fresh flowers from the farmer’s market.
3. Date night with my man – driving range and dinner out.
4. Aromas Day with my friend, Michelle. Love her.

Have a great week friends! Only 1 more week left in August. CRAZY!
