One of the little things I planned for us while on the North shore of Tahoe, was a boat ride on Tahoe Gal! It was the most beautiful afternoon for a happy hour cruise. Little boy did so great, and we all had fun staring out onto the lake. The pictures will say the rest.
Hi friends! Long time no talk. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend. We sure did, and just got back from Lake Tahoe. I already want to go back, back to where the water is aqua and teal and blue and beautiful. Reminds me of the water in Oia or Capri. It’s breathtaking. Makes you want to jump in, swim to the other side or just drink a cold glass of water. Ha. The water wasn’t freezing either, just what every lake temp is that I’ve been in. Warmer than the ocean up here, that’s for sure. We met up with my family and stayed 4 days in a darling little lake house rental {thanks, Airbnb!}. Our rental was walking distance to King’s Beach, fireworks and lake excursions. I definitely recommend paddle boarding at this beach. Amazing and very easy. Except, a small wave came up fast and I freaked and about did a cartwheel, flopping off my board. Now, THAT’S a cold water plunge! On our last day, before we made the long drive home, Rob and I stopped at Hidden Beach, a little beach south of Incline Village {on the Nevada side}. Yes, I read about it in Sunset Magazine and was determined to hit up one spot mentioned in last year’s Tahoe issue. It was a little hard to get to {a 20-min walk if you don’t find close parking}, but worth it {if you don’t have a baby to backpack around}. . . definitely one of those coves you’d want to park your boat for awhile. Great for snorkeling and adventures with your doggies. Not as family-friendly {by that I mean baby-friendly}. But we like a challenge and sweated our way to and from it. Whatever. Jace did great though and slept in the Ergo. The pictures alone were worth our time. Lake Tahoe did not disappoint. And I think it wowed my family just as much as it wowed us again. Hi friends. Hope you all had a nice Memorial Day weekend! My parents came into town for the weekend and we had such a great time. I love the days leading up to a visit with my family. Each phone call we sound more giddy and bubbly than the last. You know when you can hear someone smile on the phone? Well, we do a lot of smiling on the phone leading up to a long weekend together. I don’t know who they were more excited to see, Rob or Jace, ha. Sometimes I feel like I’m old news compared to those two. They’re such characters. I must be boring ;). We tried to keep things low-key, which means I didn’t plan a million things for us to do, like I normally do. However, we did hit up the farmer’s market in Aptos, made a lot of home-cooked meals together and ventured out to 17-mile drive for a cruise along the ocean. Every time my parents come into down we have the most beautiful weather. Never has it rained while they’ve been here. Seeing them cuddle Jace and make noises and talk to him touched my heart. It’s so fun to watch him look at their faces and smile. He’s so much fun right now and something inside of me is breaking knowing they can’t see him each week and watch him learn new things. When Jace went to bed, we watched movies and talked on the back patio, and laughed at Talking Tyler. Such a good time. It was pretty hard to say goodbye at the airport. This California dream sure is bittersweet sometimes. Well, anyway, here were some of the scenes from over the weekend.
On Easter Sunday we went to church for the first time as a family. It was so special. Our church brought together all 4 gatherings for one big service at the Civic Center downtown. Not only was it resurrection day {he has risen!}, but we got to celebrate together as a whole church, no split services. It was a pretty awesome morning — the Civic Center was bumping with great song, prayer, worship and performances by Wanda Jackson. The message of the day? God is the light. May we continue to follow him and learn from his teachings and share his love with those around us. Lately I’ve been feeling like the world is coming down on my shoulders, so this message hit hard. No bad day or insecure thought is really that big a deal when you have God by your side. There is always light, thanks to what Jesus did for us. Hope you all had nice Easter with your loved ones!

I can’t help how proud Rob looks in these pictures with his family. It melts my heart how much he loves Jace. Oh, how I love this man {sigh}. We had such a great time with his family. Thanks again Randy & Susan for everything! We love you! xoxoxo
