Insight from GIRLS

I’ve been catching up on Season 3 of Girls, and crazy Adam {or the writers behind the show} said something so incredibly spot on it was scary: “I think women get stuck in this vortex of guilt and jealousy with each other that it keeps them from seeing situations clearly.”

Isn’t that so true? As women, what if we didn’t let guilt and jealousy run our lives? Take all of that away and wouldn’t life in general be so much more enjoyable? Wouldn’t our minds feel more free? Wouldn’t we be capable of accomplishing so much more? So, come on girls, let’s give each other a break. Don’t guilt each other, don’t let jealousy of someone else {friend or not} take over your subconscious and how you treat them, or yourself, or the situation. Let’s just be happy for each other, and support each other always, and see each other when we see each other. Who cares if we’re not nearly as fashionable, successful or creative as some of the ladies in the Instagram world {totally my downfall!}. Don’t let guilt and jealousy overrun you. Easier said than done, right? . . .

Anyways, this is what I’ve been thinking about lately. . . Oh, Girls, how real you really are. More insight from GIRLS here. You’re welcome ;)

Fitz & the Tantrums

Went and saw Fitz & the Tantrums in Oakland last night with Heather and am still on a high from the show. It was AMAZING. They sure know how to put on a show. I have a total girl crush on Noelle Scaggs now. She has some mad tambourine skills and dance moves. And Michael Fitzpatrick. Wow. Those vocals! And I just learned that his white strip of hair is actually from his birthmark. How cool is that?! It was such a fun night with friends. Heather and I totally bought T-shirts like crazed fans. Felt like we were teenagers again. We danced our butts off . . . great night!

 {Heather & Leslie — love these two!}
Have you been to any great concerts lately? Please share!

Leslie Knope

Is it weird that I find the Parks & Recreation character, Leslie Knope, inspirational? I know she’s fictional, but what if someone really worked THAT hard. Had THAT much energy. Cared THAT much.  Well, I’m inspired. And I flippin’ LOVE Parks & Recreation. Can’t. stop. watching. it. so. funny.

#soincrediblyhappy

If you ever need a pick-me-up or reminder of what life’s all about {and if you’re on Instagram, which I’m sure you are, because who isn’t?!}, visit the hashtag #soincrediblyhappy. There is so much happiness to look at — engagements, places, food, friends, books, husbands, babies, puppies {!}, music . . . the list goes on. There is so much love out there in the world. Reminds me how genuinely good people are. My happiest moment this week was making homemade chicken noodle soup and listening to Kacey Musgraves, while baby boy slept. I’m so beyond blessed and am more motivated than ever to share more love with others, be a better person, a better wife, a better sister, a better friend, a better daughter, a good mom. Just better! So, next time you find yourself so incredibly happy, over anything or anyone . . remember to use the hashtag #soincrediblyhappy. It’s sort of like a special club ;) I’m going to go stare at my son some more now . . . my newest ”happy” place!

{yes, this is what I’m doing at 4am — looking at all these random happy people, hahaha}
