James Bay

I’m definitely one of those people who obsess. I find something I like and I don’t leave it alone. Hence my relationship with Robby. I saw him. I liked him. I stalked him. The rest. Any way, I heard “Hold Back the River” by James Bay in a Purre Barre class and immediately had to download the song after. I even sing it to Jace at bedtime. Then I Googled him to find out his age, home town, love life, blah blah. Then I listened to his album on Spotify. Then I bought it. Then I searched his Tour dates. Then I booked 3 tickets for November. Ha. Then I started watching his You Tube channel and searching for acoustic videos. This is sort of how I get with new music (and any celebrity crush that I have at the time, but I won’t even go there). I can’t wait to see him live!!

Future front door

I’m a HUGE fan of Gray Malin. When my budget is right one day, I’m going to buy one of his A La Plage prints for my dining room or bedroom. Anyway, he recently posted the above picture on Instagram and I can’t stop coming back to it. This shade of peach / coral is absolutely perfect. I’m mesmerized for life. I MUST have this color for my future front door. Must. Love it. What color would you paint your front door if you could paint it any color in the world?

Bloom Theory Shop … I’ll have one of each, please

Have you all seen these scarf // camera straps?! Well, if not, here they are. The girls from Bloom Theory really have something unique here. I bought my camera 3+ years ago and have YET to buy a camera strap. I still use the Canon strap that came with the camera and it’s pretty lame. I’ve been shopping for a strap forever it seems like, but every one I pick out, I worry it won’t go with an outfit or will be too clunky. But these? Goodness, they’re gorgeous. I’m afraid I’d need one of each though, to go with every outfit. Guess that’s how they hook you! But in all honesty, I would love to have any one of these.  They’re so dang clever. What camera straps are you loving out there these days?? I’m also drawn to just the classic, leather camera strap, in a great, solid color.  Might be more versatile.

Push present

The hubby let me pick out my push present {the present us mothers receive after pushing a child out of our V}. Usually the push present is a piece of jewelry, but because I’m not a HUGE diamond kind of girl, I went to Esty looking for something custom and unique that would remind me of our little man. I decided on a custom bangle from Sweet Auburn Studio, with a couple other bangles to pair with it {mint & white}. I could buy one of everything in her shop, love it ALL! Thinking I need to add this pineapple bangle to my combo as well, since he’s our little pineapple ;) So, what I’m really saying is, check out Sweet Auburn Studio on Etsy. I completely vouch for the finished product. And Leigh Ann is so sweet to correspond with, just like her studio name! She just added some new tassel items, too, that are adorable. And while you’re at, you should just go ahead and follow her on Instagram, too.

Dogeared’s Healing Gem

When I was putting together Jace’s baby book, I got to the naming page and it prompted me to transcribe the meaning behind the name “Jace”. So, of course I Googled it, and it means: a healing. Then I read on to discover this:

People with this name tend to initiate events, to be leaders rather than followers, with powerful personalities. They tend to be focused on specific goals, experience a wealth of creative new ideas, and have the ability to implement these ideas with efficiency and determination. They tend to be courageous and sometimes aggressive. As unique, creative individuals, they tend to resent authority, and are sometimes stubborn, proud, and impatient.

People with this name have a deep inner desire for a stable, loving family or community, and a need to work with others and to be appreciated.

THEN, while on Instagram {of course}, I saw this necklace from Dogeared, sporting Jace’s birthsone, the amethyst. And the little message behind the necklace was rather fitting for me:
Purple amethyst can help you stay grounded and present in any situation. Wear this Healing Gem necklace for clarity and insight… You’ll feel the positive energy every time you put it on!

That’s when I clicked, ‘add to cart’. I seriously have a shopping addiction, hahahahhaa. But, COME ON?!! Jace means “a healing”, his birthstone is an amethyst, the necklace is to instill awareness, honesty and inspiration?! I basically HAD to get one. Anything to help keep my mind subconsciously focused when I go back to work, right?! Right. I’ve been totally duped by all this mushy meaning stuff, but I don’t care. Jace is my little healer man as far as I know ;)
