Easter Morning

thumb_IMG_0737_1024 Hope you all had a nice holiday weekend. Our little family had truly a wonderful Easter Sunday. Such a special day in our hearts and all that more enjoyable to rejoice with family. Easter morning we surprised Jace with his basket, then headed over to my parent’s house for brunch and an Easter egg hunt. Somehow I didn’t get any family shots in. Typical me, right? The only person I tend to capture is Mr. Jace these days. But I guess I should get us in some pictures sooner or later! Next time ;) My mom had an amazing feast prepared for us. The ham was mouth-watering good — I don’t know if it was the glaze or cooking time, but it was life changing. Biscuits and gravy, over easy eggs, the whole thang. Jace of course made out like a bandit. And this was only at one Grandparent’s house. Later we hopped on over to Rob’s family’s house for another feast and egg hunt. So much fun! Until next time, God bless!  Continue Reading

Christmas!

This Christmas, I decided to take a bunch of video so we could really capture the excitement and moments from the day. This Christmas sure did come fast, we didn’t even get to all of our “12 dates of Christmas” … all of a sudden it was Dec. 24th and we were furiously wrapping gifts! But, wow, what an awesome Christmas, even for how exhausting it might have seemed. We got in a ton of family time and laughs, lots of dancing and kissing and eating .. just your average family holiday get together.

I think one of the best parts of our Christmas holiday was playing with Jace and his toys. Since I’ve been an adult now for what feels like forever, I forgot how fun toys are!! So please pardon my little toy recap here, but I was as into the toy playing as mr. Jace was. His favorite gifts included anything Thomas the Train related. Rob got him a little Thomas the Train whistle, Grandpa Randy got him a battery-operated one, and a friend got him a little train track set, and me a little tent for him to play in. And just a sidetone, thank you, Netflix, for having Thomas the Train .. it’s seriously the best show and Jace adamantly requests to watch it now, while he plays with his trains. He goes around saying, “MY choo choo (yes, everything that is “his”, he proudly disclaims as “MINE” in the cutest little boy voice). He also loved this glow-in-the-dark, battery-operated car track my Mom got him. The track is plastic and folds up nicely into a bag, so you can take it anywhere. And the cars are fast! Lastly .. Great Grandma Margie got Jace a teepee for his room. And I tell you, Jace has never been more animated about life until he saw this thing. It was definitely a bad idea to set it up right after bath time, because after rolling around in this thing, running around it, diving into the pillows, reading books, playing with the flashlight and watching the glowing lights on the ceiling, this boy didn’t want to go to bed. Good thing he woke up and it was right there for him to experience all over again. Such fun. Rob and I felt like kids again, unwrapping the toy boxes and getting everything out, playing trains and cars, bouncing new balls, dancing to Snoopy, etc. We completely forgot about our own gifts and just hunkered down on the floor to play with Jace. It was so freaking awesome. But then again, I think Jace brought out the child in everyone this Christmas. We looked around and our families were just as consumed in the toys as we were, ha. We’re truly so blessed to have such loving families.

P.S. We also used this holiday to start Star Wars! I feel like we’re the last humans on earth who haven’t seen it. So, we started with episodes 4,5 and 6 .. then I sort of want to skip 1-3 and just watch the new one! I hear it’s AH-mazing. Are you a Star Wars fan? I think I’m hooked for life! And how cute is chewbacca?! I might need to get this backpack for Jace. Or maybe for myself ;)

Hope you all had as playful a holiday as us ..  XOXO

Family, Holidays, Santa Cruz, Video

4th of July in Santa Cruz + a video

I finally compiled all of the video footage from our trip to Santa Cruz for the 4th of July. It was so wonderful going back to our old stomping grounds and seeing all of our friends. New babies, new stories and new experiences for little man. He was so excited to see the beach, it was adorable. He didn’t want to leave that ocean. What I didn’t include in the video was him crying when we took him out of the water, hahahaha. I sure do miss those trees and the smell of the ocean. Miss it so much it hurts. And of course the people. They’re the best part. Love you girls (and guys!) so much. It was truly one of the best 4th of Julys ever.

Mother’s Day

This Mother’s Day weekend was a total blur. I think there was some wine, some pedis and sleeping in. Unfortunately I came down with a kidney infection, one that put me in the urgent care on Sunday. That was fun. Not. I blame Arizona for making me sweaty and dehydrated. Aside from the back pain and other bodily issues, it was a nice weekend. Being a Mother is such a blessing, such an honor. I love being Jace’s momma. To know that I brought him into this world, carried him, and birthed him. It’s truly a God-given miracle. Creating life is so incredible and now when I see Jace’s face, I see myself. I see a piece of me. Every day I see myself more as a mother. When I comb his hair back, when I wipe his little tush. When I share watermelon slices with him. When I play peek-a-boo and we read books. The little touch of his hand, his belly laughs when I tickle him, his blue eyes, the way he says “uh-oh!”. It makes my heart burst every time. To know him and want to help him learn and explore and play. This motherhood thing is the best thing that’s ever happened to me. At times I’m exhausted, but the minute he hugs me tightly, puts his head between my legs or smiles at me, I’m done. I love watching him figure things out and put two and two together. A little person is in the works, because of me (&Rob). A little soul is learning to hug and embrace and get a rise out of you, to try his limits. I care so much about him and thank God every day that I get to be his little keeper for now. It’s such a huge responsibility and crazy hard sometimes, but I’m going to do my best. His heart is so good already, I feel it. And I am capable of being better, for him.

Here are some pictures from the weekend:)) Spent Saturday with my Mom at Vintage 95 and then to the nail salon for pedicures. Little boy joined us, too and snacked with us.

IMG_5422 IMG_5423 IMG_5427Sunday I slept in, then we went to Postino’s for brunch, before my back pain kicked in with the kidneys. Then spent some time at the Urgent Care.

IMG_5425 IMG_5426Thankfully, the pain went away and I was given some magical antibiotics. We spent the rest of the day with Jace and family, and playing in the grass behind our house, after Jace woke up.

IMG_5448IMG_5428IMG_5433IMG_5451IMG_5443 IMG_5438 IMG_5439Jace thought it would be fun to run around with rocks. I think he has officially entered toddler-ville. He just loves to live on the wild side. He’d walk straight into the pool if we let him, ha. And dang he runs so fast! Such a little speed demon midget!

IMG_5452 IMG_5454 IMG_5453Along with my trashy mags and gum, Jace also got me some coupons to redeem later. Pretty cute (good job husband;))IMG_5445Hope all you mothers out there had a wonderful day. You deserve it.

Family, Las Vegas

Vegasssssss

IMG_5262
I just got home from a little weekend getaway to Vegas with my sister. And boy was it a doozy. I feel like I’m still recovering, ha. Mainly from all the dancing we did. I’m actually sore from dancing, in all kinds of random areas of my body. We literally danced the night away every night. It was exactly what I wanted to do in Vegas. Dance! (and eat of course). The picture above is the entrance as you first walk into the Wynn – by far my most favorite hotel on the strip. It’s so magical. It’s one of those hotels you want to dress up for, wear high heels in, fancy up your lips, and mingle with the high-rollers and shop ’til you drop, and wander around, looking for love. It’s lovely. It’s so pretty you don’t want to walk bare foot through it, even at 4am. Except. we did.

The first night we had tickets to see Kascade at XS at the Wynn/Encore. All week leading up to the show I was listening to his tracks from Coachella. He is seriously AAAAAAmazing. I of course Googled him and found out he was 42, living in San Francisco, with a wife and 4 daughters. Big shot producer and electronic music maker. Good thing we got there 2 1/2 hrs early to get a good spot on the floor, because as soon as he came out it got crazy. Couldn’t really dance at that point because it was so packed, so it was a lot of arm pumping and stomping, haha.  And what is up with guys and checkered shirts?! It was like a J Crew advertisement up in that place. See below for example. And while we’re at it. How in the world does Vegas get away with charging $34 for 2 drinks? Really?!!?

Saturday we slept until 3pm, seeing how it was rainy and windy and cold. Never experienced that kind of weather in Vegas, so we were a little bummed. I would have rather fell asleep in a lounge chair by the waterfall pool than in our suite, but nonetheless, I got a lot of good quality sleep. Until we stayed out until 4am again, hahaha.  Saturday was the biggest night of the weekend because we had tickets to Britney (my xmas gift to my sister). But first, dinner at Joe’s Stone Crab & Steakhouse at Ceasar’s .. with a coffee after to get us ready for Brit.

IMG_5268 IMG_5269And then it was time. For BRITNEY!!!!!!!

IMG_5272 IMG_5276 IMG_5278 IMG_5280 IMG_5282 IMG_5283 IMG_5284Totally worth the cost of the tickets.  And the $20 glass of champagne. And $45 T-Shirt. lol … She was a doll. I’m pretty sure she lip-synced the whole time, but she danced her little tush off. It was a great Vegas show, with lots of color and muscled dancers and confetti and dancing! More dancing (right up my alley!). She played every song I loved .. we didn’t want it to end. I can pretty much say that I’m a fan for life.

After we went to the Cosmopolitan for the Chandelier bar and then Marquis (for more dancing). It was a LONG, night. Look at me and my blazer in Vegas. Possibly a little too momish … hahahaha.

Sunday we woke up and hit up New York New York for some sunshine at Tom’s Urban, and then lunch at the Shake Shack. When in New York, right?! It was just what we needed, including the chocolate shake. Yummmm.. This sister of mine is pretty crazy. But I guess that’s what makes her so dang special. She’s so full of life and letting go. It was nice to get away this weekend and feel girly. I actually spent an hr getting ready each night, curling my hair and putting on my sister’s make-up. We listened to music getting ready and tried on different outfits. Felt like I was in college again with my girls. Thanks for a fun weekend, sister! Truly one of the best Vegas trips ever. Oh, and funny side note (maybe it’s funny, maybe it’s not) I woke up and realized I had confetti stuck to me from the dance club. Ha. Is that what it’s called, confetti? Who knows.
