Hi friends. How are you? Me .. I woke up at 4:30a this morning, mind racing. Mostly about all my projects at work that are really lagging and the fact that I have less than 10 weeks to get everything wrapped up and handed off. But outside of work, my view lately has been pretty great. Starting with that Arizona sky lately! It’s been raining on and off for over a week now, with sunny and cloudy afternoons, which makes for great baseball playing outside in our backyard.
On MLK day, Rob and I had the day off so we treated ourselves to a big feast at Angry Crab. Their trifecta sauce/blend is to-die-for. It’s really one of our favorite date spots. Something about the bibs and the crushing of crab gets us all excited, ha. These little dates of ours are so needed sometimes. A little us time where we can talk about everything under the sun and also feed our faces and not worry about what’s going into Jace’s! And look at that belly full of crab and shrimp of mine! Baby ate GOOD that day.
My father-in-law (Rob’s daddio!) turned the big 6-0 this last week! His wife, Susan, threw him a wonderful surprise birthday party and boy was he surprised! Such a great night celebrating this kind and loving man. He had so many friends and family surrrounding him with love and prayer. A truly special night. This man sure has been a positive force in my life over the last 15 years. He is one awesome 60-year old now, always ready for an adventure or his next creative project!
My view of my little boy around our house never gets old. Those little feet, his little fingers painting along. He’s all over the place and wants to be a part of everything we do around the house and out in the yard. I love watching him strut around like he knows what to do with everything, like he owns the place. It’s the cutest thing. Our tree out front has completely lost all of its leaves; it’s so sad! I hope for a quick Spring so it comes back to life. I miss its color!
My friend Kristin also came over this last weekend for another crafternoon, but at my casa this time. I’m going for a Southwest theme with the new baby’s nursery so we got started on the cactus backdrop. I sketched everything out by hand (the Heather way you could say) and then we got to work on the painting. I’ll finish it up this next weekend and share more once it’s all done! Have a great week! More life documenting to come ;)
