My view lately

Well, hello. How are you? Me… Well, I’ve been soaking up the Arizona life these days, for what it’s worth! Somehow I’ve made myself very busy again. But I don’t mind .. the weather is nice, it’s good to keep Jace active and about .. and my view lately, no matter how I look at it, is pretty awesome. Life is good, and so is God! I’ve been up to a lot, and I’d love to share.

A friend of mine took me to a boot camp and brunch at the Price House, a Frank Lloyd Wright creation owned by the U-haul family. It was an hour of drills focused on using your own body weight. Pretty sweaty morning, but the Panera breakfast and view after was worth it. Just look at those roses! The largest of the Frank Lloyd Wright houses built in Arizona, and all for the Price family who just wanted to entertain their grandchildren.

Oh, and I’ve canceled some other monthly subscriptions so I can get back to what really matters. BIRCHBOX. I seriously act like a child when I get the email that it’s been sent. And then I go check my mailbox and get wildly giddy over the surprises inside. #loveit

I just finished The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up .. and I must say, I think I’m transformed. I have a whole new found love for folding laundry, hanging clothes and creating spaces that truly spark JOY. Just like the one I finished up below. The book is fantastic at getting you to appreciate your belongings, what they did for you while in your ownership, but also, when to let go and say goodbye. And throw the crap out! I’ll have to devote a whole post to this book and how it’s lightened our lives, literally. I have almost no clothes now, but it just makes me realize that a lot of the clothes I did own, already had outlived their purpose in my life. Some things just didn’t bring me joy anymore. The end.

My sister got free tickets to the Diamond Backs’ opener on Friday night, and invited us to join her, Jace too! We had the best seats,  and Jace was such a good boy. He ate an entire hot dog just about (the boy can eat!), got on the jumbo tron (whatever that big screen thing is called), and even got some free old baseball playing cards from some fans in our aisle. Ever since then, Jace has been trying to pitch balls around the house, a little scary, but cute all the same. He even brings up his knee like real pitchers do, haha.

We also went to the Luke Air Force Base Air Show in Litchfield with my Dad this past weekend. And what a view! My dad just loves this type of thing; he was on cloud nine. I think a part of him wishes he would have joined the air force;) Best part of the show? I’d have to say the Alabama Boys, the Golden Knights sky divers, and of course the Thunderbirds, because WOW are they fast!!! I got some great footage of their air art.  We probably walked 10 miles around that air force base, but it was worth it. Jace loved the planes too, and kept saying “down” to all of them in the air, ha. I also was able to get my tan on, so win win for all! ;)

The mornings are still cool around here, so I drive around with the moon roof open and windows down most days. I also take some extra time to enjoy the view from my parking spot at work — rooftop parking, baby!

My view at Snooze the other day, our favorite breakfast spot in downtown Gilbert. I especially like their breakfast pot pie! Jace was so hungry by the time we finally got our food, he kept saying “me eat, me eat”. I felt like the worst mom for making him wait so long for breakfast! His poor little boy belly was HANGRY! :(

Some steak kabobs. We’ve been getting these almost every week from Fry’s; just can’t get enough of how tender and juicy they are! Or, maybe it’s because Rob cooks them just right! So good!

And last, but not least, my view at church last week with my sis-in-law, Tayler. I hate to admit it, but it was the first time I had been to church since moving back to Arizona, which means for like, a year. Very unlike me, I know. It was great to worship and follow along with scripture. The church is called Twenty Nine Eleven (29:11). Their Jeremiah coffee company and brew house is super rad and hipster, and the music was on point all night. The pastor’s son sang Fix You by Coldplay and it about knocked my butt off my seat. His voice was soul-shaking. I hope to go back to really get a feel for the overall community, but so far it was very alive and youthful and grounded in God’s love .. the vibe was great. Felt almost like my Vintage Faith back in Santa Cruz;)
