Holidays

Free hugs

IMG_1050When I saw this shirt from Feather 4 Arrow, I had to get it. A baseball tee with a cactus wearing sunglasses? So cute. And it’s seriously the softest shirt I’ve ever felt in my life. So, here are a few shots I captured with my nifty fifty lens from over the weekend.

12 Dates of Christmas

Christmas “Daddoos”!!

thumb_IMG_7183_1024It’s finally the holiday season!!! And we couldn’t be more ready!!!!  It’s pretty freezing around these parts, even for Arizona. I guess I didn’t remember it ever getting THIS cold before. But nonetheless, we’re embracing it. I thought we’d do something extra special this year to get us in the holiday spirit, and pick up the “12 dates of Christmas” .. but this time include little Jace face. He’s sort of the love of our life so why not include him in our festive date nights?! Our first “date” was putting on (metallic!) temporary tattoos. However, Jace refers to them as “daddoos”. I don’t think he’s conquered his t’s yet, so we’re enjoying how cute he sounds when he tries to say tattoo. Since we’ve applied it, it’s all he can talk about. He shows everyone, including the strangers at the grocery store, and his friends at daycare. It’s also the first thing he says when he wakes up – “DADDOOO”!!!

Holidays

A little football on Thanksgiving

thumb_IMG_7157_1024After our Thanksgiving meal with my side of the family, my boys went out back to run it off and play a little football!  I have a strong inkling that Jace is going to be really good at any sport that involves a ball. Plus, we have about 50 of them in our house. I just sat on the back patio and watched these guys run back and forth, Rob play tackling him, trying to knock the ball out of his hand; Jace trying to throw the ball down for a touch down and run away. I can’t get over his facial expressions. You might need to zoom in to see them. Such a fun time listening to my little boy breathe all heavy and giggle, and face plant a couple times into the grass, haha. Who knows, we might have a future running back on our hands!

Gilbert

Some randoms from last month

thumb_IMG_6896_1024Well, since this life isn’t going to slow down, I might as well post some memories from last month that I don’t want to forget. Man, did October fly. And now it’s already, what, Nov 12?! The temps around here are pretty wonderful. The Arizona winter is here and mornings are in the 50s. We’ve been spending a lot of time outside and in downtown Gilbert, our new little home town. One of our favorite places is Veteran’s Park. It’s perfect for Jace’s size, with a mini merry-go-round and even some musical features.

thumb_IMG_6892_1024 thumb_IMG_6895_1024 thumb_IMG_6898_1024Jace and I tried the new ice-cream shop downtown, Petersen’s. Not impressed, but their Halloween decor was on point.  The picture below was just before Jace fell off the stool and knocked the ice-cream cup to the ground. It happened so fast! And that was the end of our ice-cream adventure, hahaha.

Rob went fly fishing in New Mexico with his Dad and brother, too, in October. He had a blast, caught a ton of fish (that he had to throw back) and got a lot of brother bonding in. thumb_IMG_6961_1024And the same weekend Rob went fishing, is the same weekend I discovered that I’m a complete push over. Jace literally pushed me and slapped me around all weekend, telling me what to do, and what to play, and what to feed him. I caved and fed him an entire pineapple on one of the days just so he’d stop throwing tantrums to get into the fridge! At one point he had me cornered! Maybe he’s going through a growth spurt, maybe I just wore him out to the point of hunger and exhaustion. Who knows. He is a total toddler terror at times and I just have to be patient and help him deal with his frustrations and learn good from bad behavior. And not give in!

thumb_IMG_6965_1024thumb_IMG_6963_1024thumb_IMG_6964_1024Another fun day in October was our play date with my sister and her friends. Jace spent the entire day jumping on the trampoline, had such a blast. Thank you Audra!

thumb_IMG_6979_1024 thumb_IMG_6981_1024I guess that wraps up October … !! Hope yours was eventful and full of memories, too!

The water challenge .. I accept!

IMG_7032You’d think drinking water would come easy for everyone, but for me, it’s hard. It’ll be noon before I realize I haven’t taken a sip of water. It’s also why I had the worst hemis during pregnancy (gross, sorry) and not the best supply of  breast milk back in the day. I just don’t drink enough water in the day, plain and simple.  Then, one night I was stalking all of my favorite girls on Instagram and saw on Julianne Hough’s Instagram that she took on the 21-day water challenge (it takes 21 days to create a habit), drinking two glasses of water every morning. WHICH is meant to hydrate and wake up your digestive track, preparing it for coffee, tea, breakfast and more (I heart the “more” stuff:))). I started just today and actually didn’t want to fall asleep at my desk for once!  Instead of crashing at 2:00pm I wanted to crash at 6:30pm, right before Pure Barre, ha, but then I pushed through and went to Barre, and was re-energized again. Now I’m excited to wake up and do it all over again. For 20 more days ..  And I’ve chosen two very special vintage drinking glasses to help me get through this = antiques handed down from my momma. Let’s see if this drinking water thing improves my skin, too. God knows my face could use some more moisture. Game on!
